This Salmonella test for dogs and cats employs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology to detect the presence of Salmonella bacteria in samples from these pets. Salmonella, a genus of rod-shaped, gram-negative bacteria, can infect a broad spectrum of animals, including household pets like dogs and cats. This infection can vary in severity, from asymptomatic cases where the animal shows no outward signs of illness despite carrying the bacteria, to severe cases marked by significant symptoms. These symptoms can include diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, lethargy, and loss of appetite.
This test has a use by date of at least 6 weeks from point of order and it must be returned to the lab on or any time before the use by date.
Turnaround Times
Our lab turnaround time is up to 5 working days.
Order before 3pm Monday-Friday for same day dispatch, which we send on a 24 hour service. All orders over £40 and all subscriptions qualify for free delivery.
